About BenchTone
BenchTone is a set of free practice tools, one tool per page: tuners for the common string instruments and a chromatic tuner for everything else, a page for each popular guitar tuning, a metronome and a tap-tempo counter.
Everything happens in your browser
The tuners listen through your microphone only after you press Start and your browser asks for permission. The sound is analyzed a few dozen times a second inside the page and then thrown away: nothing is recorded, stored or sent to a server. The metronome and the reference tones are synthesised on your device with the Web Audio API.
What is free
All of it: every tool, as long as you like, with no account, no app and no advertising.
